These timeless folk songs were recited as oral tradition by two wonderfully warm and wild moms!
Thank you, Laura and Charlotte!
A Boy and a Girl in a Little Canoe
A boy and a girl in a little canoe, with the moon shining all around
As they paddled and paddled their little canoe, you couldn't hear another sound
So, they talked and they talked, 'til the moon grew dim
Then he said, "You gotta kiss me or get out and swim!"
So, whatcha gonna do in a little canoe, with the moon shining all around?
A boy and a girl in a little canoe, with the moon shining all around
As they paddled and paddled their little canoe, you couldn't hear another sound
So, they talked and they talked, 'til the moon grew dim
Then he said, "You gotta kiss me or get out and swim!"
So, whatcha gonna do in a little canoe, with the moon shining all a-
boats floating all a-
girls swimming all around?
The Little Bird Song
(Sing this with a group of groggy campers!)
Way up in the sky, the little birds fly,
While down in the nest, the little birds rest.
With a wing to the left, and a wing to the right,
The little birds sleep all through the night.
Shhhhh! YOU MIGHT WAKE UP THE BIRDS!
The bright sun comes up, the dew falls away,
"Good Morning, Good Morning!" the little birds say.
On Top of Spaghetti
On Top of Spaghetti, all covered with cheese,
I lost my poor meatball when somebody sneezed.
It rolled off of the table, and onto the floor.
Then my poor meatball, rolled right through the door.
It rolled into the garden, and under a bush,
and now my poor meatball is nothing but mush.
Three Little Angels
Three little angels, all dressed in white,
Tried to get to Heaven on the end of a kite.
The kite, it got broken, and down they all fell,
Instead of going to Heaven they all went to...
Two little angels, all dressed in white,
Tried to get to Heaven on the end of a kite.
The kite, it got broken, and down they all fell,
Instead of going to Heaven they all went to...
One little angel, all dressed in white,
Tried to get to Heaven on the end of a kite.
The kite, it got broken, and down they all fell,
Instead of going to Heaven they all went to...
Three little devils, all dressed in red,
Tried to get to Heaven on the end of a thread,
The thread, it got broken, and down they all fell,
Instead of going to Heaven they all went to...
Two little devils, all dressed in red,
Tried to get to Heaven on the end of a thread,
The thread, it got broken, and down they all fell,
Instead of going to Heaven they all went to...
One little devil, all dressed in red,
Tried to get to Heaven on the end of a thread,
The thread, it got broken, and down they all fell,
Instead of going to Heaven they all went to...

Catalina Matalina
Catalina-Matalina-Oop-Scala-Wala-Wala-Hogan-Mogan-Logan was her name.
She had two eyes, upon her head,
One was blue and the other was red.
Catalina-Matalina-Oop-Scala-Wala-Wala-Hogan-Mogan-Logan was her name.
She had two teeth in her mouth,
One went north and the other went south.
Catalina-Matalina-Oop-Scala-Wala-Wala-Hogan-Mogan-Logan was her name.
She had one nose upon her face,
But it wandered and wandered all over the place.
Catalina-Matalina-Oop-Scala-Wala-Wala-Hogan-Mogan-Logan was her name.
She had two hairs on her chin,
One grew out and the other grew in.
You Are My Sunshine
You are my sunshine, my only sunshine,
You make me happy when skies are gray.
You'll never know dear, how much I love you.
So, please don't take my sunshine away.
Peanut on the Railroad Tracks
A peanut sat on the railroad tracks,
his heart went pitter putter,
along came a choo-choo,
knocked him cuckoo,
now, he's peanut butter......
